#NUWA ROBOTICS
Facing the long-term care challenges brought by an aging population, Hsinchu NTU Branch has partnered with Nuwa Robotics to introduce a holistic care robot. By leveraging AI, multilingual interaction, and customizable features, the robot supports healthcare workers and enhances the quality of care for the elderly. This smart robot, which won the Special Award at the 2023 Hakka AI Application Hackathon, not only provides guidance, greeting, and real-time conversation, but also monitors health. Additionally, through skeletal detection technology and gamified rehabilitation activities, it encourages elderly participation while relieving the burden on occupational therapists.
In community-based long-term care centers, the robot can instantly detect temperature, recognize faces, and complete check-ins, quickly transmitting the information to family members to ensure transparency and accessibility of the elderly’s health status. By integrating Hakka board games into health education, the robot makes health education more culturally relevant and closely aligned with users' daily lives, while bridging the gap between healthcare providers and the elderly. With Nuwa Robotics' modular design and RaaS Suite tools, healthcare workers can easily apply their professional knowledge to the robot’s services.
Hsinchu NTU Branch states that it will continue to integrate innovative technologies with human-centered care to create a more complete smart healthcare ecosystem, providing a new model for healthy aging for the elderly.
