Zhibao International, focused on developing intellectual properties (IP) within the global ACG (anime, comics, and games) industry, has announced exciting news from its subsidiary, Xiangying Creative. The company successfully signed Taiwanese manga artist "Jeright" and launched a new work, The "Incompetent" Court Magician Demoted to the Countryside Is Actually the Strongest Without Magic. The manga began serialization on the NicoNico Manga platform on January 7, 2025, releasing new chapters every Tuesday, and is slated for publication under the DashX Bunko imprint of Japan’s Shueisha. Jeright is now the second Taiwanese manga artist in nearly 15 years to publish formally within the Shueisha system.
Xiangying Creative, a joint venture between Zhibao International and the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA), is dedicated to discovering and promoting Taiwanese original content globally. In May 2024, the company announced three Taiwanese projects set to be adapted into anime for international markets. Now, its foray into the Japanese manga market marks another significant milestone. General Manager Yang Guoxiang highlighted that recommending Jeright to Shueisha and enabling his formal debut in Japan holds profound significance for Taiwan's manga industry.
As the "Sunshine Plan" progresses, Zhibao International is preparing for its initial public offering (IPO) in the first quarter of 2025 to strengthen Taiwan's IP competitiveness within the global ACG industry. The serialization of Jeright's new manga in Japan represents a critical step in integrating Taiwanese and Japanese ACG industry strengths and advancing Taiwanese original content onto the international stage.
